Jerusalem Is Sacked And The Temple Burned

⁸ It was the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. ⁹ He burned the house of the Lord, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every great house he burned with fire. ¹⁰ The army of the Chaldaeans under the command of the captain of the army broke down the walls around Jerusalem.
