Yahweh's Judgment Upon Egypt

¹ In the tenth year, on the twelfth day of the tenth month, a message came to me from the LORD, who had this to say: ² "Son of Man, turn your attention to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and the entire nation of Egypt. ³ Tell him that this is what the Lord GOD says: "Watch out! I'm coming to get you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt! You big monster! You lay in wait in the middle of your waterways and say, "My waterways belong to me! I made them for myself!"

"Son of Man," he said, "turn your face to oppose the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.

Jeremiah 44:30

This is what the LORD says: "Look, I'm going to give Pharaoh Hophra, king of Egypt, into the hands of his enemies and into the hands of those seeking his life, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy who was seeking his life."

"Son of Man, turn your attention to the descendants of Ammon and rebuke them.

Another message came to me from the LORD, who had this to say:

Joel 3:19

Egypt will be desolate, and Edom will be a desert, because of violence against the people of Judah since they shed innocent blood in their land.

Zechariah 14:18-19

If the people of Egypt do not come to Jerusalem to take part, they will have no annual Nile overflow. A plague will come from the LORD to strike the nations who do not come to observe the Festival of Tents.
