A Message For Zedekiah

⁴ ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel, “Behold, I am about to turn back the weapons of war which are in your hands, with which you are warring against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall; and I will gather them into the center of this city. ⁵ I Myself will war against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm, even in anger and wrath and great indignation. ⁶ I will also strike down the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast; they will die of a great pestilence.

Outstretched Arm

Exodus 6:6

Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

Isaiah 5:25

On this account the anger of the Lord has burned against His people,
And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them down.
And the mountains quaked, and their corpses lay like refuse in the middle of the streets.
For all this His anger is not spent,
But His hand is still stretched out.

Isaiah 63:10

But they rebelled
And grieved His Holy Spirit;

Jeremiah 6:12

For I will stretch out My hand
Against the inhabitants of the land,” declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 32:37

Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands to which I have driven them in My anger, in My wrath and in great indignation; and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in safety.

Lamentations 2:4-5

He has bent His bow like an enemy;
