The Prologue To John's Gospel

³ All things existed through him, and without him not one thing existed, which existed. ⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men; ⁵ and the light shone in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 5:26

For as the Father has life in himself, so has he also given to the Son to have life in himself;
