9 Therefore the (M)Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For (N)Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
9 “How is it that You, a Jew,(K) ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan(L) woman?” she asked Him. For Jews do not associate with(d) Samaritans.(e)
9 The Samaritan woman asked him, "How can you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" Because Jews do not have anything to do with Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”
10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you (O)living water.”
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
10 Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God,(M) and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”(N)

11 She said to Him, “Sir, (d)You have nothing to draw with [no bucket and rope] and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
11 “Sir,”(O) said the woman, “You don’t even have a bucket, and the well is deep. So where do You get this ‘living water’?
11 The woman told him, "Sir, you don't have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where are you going to get this living water?
12 Are You greater than our father (e)Jacob, who gave us the well, and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also?”
12 You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who (Q)gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?”
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
12 You aren’t greater than our father Jacob,(P) are You? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and livestock.”
12 You're not greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it, along with his sons and his flocks, are you?"
13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.
13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
13 Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again.
13 Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks this water will become thirsty again.
14 But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him (R)shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to (S)eternal life.”
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
14 But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever!(Q) In fact, the water I will give him will become a well(f)(R) of water springing up within him for eternal life.”(S)

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not get thirsty nor [have to continually] come all the way here to draw.”

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 At this, Jesus said, “Go, call your husband and come back.”

17 The woman answered, “I do not have a husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I do not have a husband’;

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
17 “I don’t have a husband,” she answered.“You have correctly said, ‘I don’t have a husband,’” Jesus said.
17 The woman answered him, "I don't have a husband."
18 for you have had five husbands, and the man you are now living with is not your (f)husband. You have said this truthfully.”
18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.”
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
18 “For you’ve had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.”
18 Jesus told her, "You are quite right in saying, "I don't have a husband,' because you have had five husbands, and the man you have now is not your husband. What you have said is true."
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews say that the place where one ought to worship is in Jerusalem [at the temple].”
20 (V)Our fathers worshiped in (W)this mountain, and you people say that (X)in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain,(g)(T) yet you Jews say that the place to worship is in Jerusalem.”(U)
20 Our ancestors worshipped on this mountain. But you Jews say that the place where people should worship is in Jerusalem."
21 Jesus replied, “Woman, believe Me, a time is coming [when God’s kingdom comes] when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
21 Jesus *said to her, “Woman, believe Me, (Y)an hour is coming when (Z)neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
21 Jesus told her, “Believe Me, woman, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
21 Jesus told her, "Believe me, dear lady, the hour is coming when you Samaritans will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
22 You [Samaritans] do not know what you worship; we [Jews] do know what we worship, for salvation is from the Jews.
22 (AA)You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for (AB)salvation is from the Jews.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
22 You Samaritans(h) worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.(V)
22 You don't know what you're worshiping. We Jews know what we're worshiping, because salvation comes from the Jews.
23 But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers.
23 But (AC)an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father (AD)in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ—the Anointed); when that One comes, He will tell us everything [we need to know].”
25 The woman *said to Him, “I know that (AF)Messiah is coming ((AG)He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah(i)(Z) is coming” (who is called Christ(AA)). “When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
25 The woman told him, "I know that the Anointed One is coming, who is being called "the Messiah'. When that person comes, he will explain everything."
27 Just then His disciples came, and they were surprised to find Him talking with a woman. However, no one said, “What are You asking about?” or, “Why are You talking to her?”
27 At this point His (AI)disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?”
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
27 Just then His disciples arrived, and they were amazed that He was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, “What do You want?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
27 At this point his disciples arrived, and they were astonished that he was talking to a woman. Yet no one said, "What do you want from her?" or, "Why are you talking to her?"
28 Then the woman left her water jar, and went into the city and began telling the people,
28 So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and *said to the men,
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
28 Then the woman left her water jar, went into town, and told the men,
28 Then the woman left her water jar and went back to town. She told people,
29 “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done! Can this be the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed)?”
29 “Come, see a man (AJ)who told me all the things that I have done; (AK)this is not (f)the Christ, is it?”
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
29 "Come, see a man who told me everything I've ever done! Could he possibly be the Messiah?"
32 But He told them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
32 But He said, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
32 But he told them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about."
33 So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him something to eat?”
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
33 The disciples said to one another, “Could someone have brought Him something to eat?”
33 So the disciples began to say to one another, "No one has brought him anything to eat, have they?"
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to completely finish His work.
34 Jesus *said to them, “My food is to (AN)do the will of Him who sent Me and to (AO)accomplish His work.
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
34 “My food is to do the will of Him(AF) who sent Me(AG) and to finish His work,”(AH) Jesus told them.
34 Jesus told them, "My food is doing the will of the one who sent me and completing his work.
35 Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest.
35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white (AP)for harvest.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
35 “Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, then comes the harvest’? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open(j) your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ready(k) for harvest.
35 You say, don't you, "In four more months the harvest will begin?' Look, I tell you, open your eyes and observe that the fields are ready for harvesting now!
36 Already the reaper is receiving his wages and he is gathering fruit for eternal life; so that he who plants and he who reaps may rejoice together.
36 Already he who reaps is receiving (AQ)wages and is gathering (AR)fruit for (AS)life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
36 The reaper is already receiving pay and gathering fruit for eternal life,(AI) so the sower and reaper can rejoice together.
36 The one who harvests is already receiving his wages and gathering a crop for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who harvests may rejoice together.
38 I sent you to reap [a crop] for which you have not worked. Others have worked and you have been privileged to reap the results of their work.”
38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

38 I have sent you to harvest what you have not worked for. Others have worked, and you have adopted their work as your own."
39 Now many Samaritans from that city believed in Him and trusted Him [as Savior] because of what the woman said when she testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”
39 From (AU)that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “(AV)He told me all the things that I have done.”
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
39 Now many Samaritans(AK) from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said(m) when she testified,(AL) “He told me everything I ever did.”

40 So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they asked Him to remain with them; and He stayed there two days.

42 They kept telling the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, because now we have heard him ourselves, and we know that he really is the Savior of the world."
45 So when He arrived in Galilee, the Galileans (g)welcomed Him, since they had seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they too came to the feast.

47 When he heard that Jesus had come (BD)out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and was imploring Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
47 When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea(AX) into Galilee, he went to Him and pleaded with Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.

48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you [people] see [miraculous] signs and wonders, you [simply] will not believe.”

48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
48 Jesus told him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe."
50 Jesus said to him, “Go; your son lives!” The man believed what Jesus said to him and started home.
50 Jesus *said to him, “(BG)Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
50 “Go,” Jesus told him, “your son will live.” The man believed what(p) Jesus said to him and departed.
50 Jesus told him, "Go home. Your son will live." The man believed what Jesus told him and started back home.
51 As he was already going down [the road], his servants met him and reported that his son was living [and was healthy].
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
51 While he was still going down, his slaves met him saying that his boy was alive.
51 While he was on his way, his servants met him and told him that his child was alive.
52 So he asked them at what time he began to get better. They said, “Yesterday during the seventh hour the fever left him.”
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, “Yesterday at the (j)seventh hour the fever left him.”
52 Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
52 He asked them at what time he got better. “Yesterday at seven in the morning(q) the fever left him,” they answered.
52 So he asked them at what hour he had begun to recover, and they told him, "The fever left him yesterday at one o'clock in the afternoon."
53 Then the father realized that it was at that very hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son lives”; and he and his entire household believed and confidently trusted [in Him as Savior].
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives”; and he himself believed and (BH)his whole household.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
53 The father(BB) realized this was the very hour at which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” Then he himself believed, along with his whole household.
53 Then the father realized that this was the very hour when Jesus had told him, "Your son will live." So he himself believed, along with his whole family.
54 This is the second sign (attesting miracle) that Jesus performed [in Cana] after He had come from Judea to Galilee [revealing that He is the Messiah].
54 This is again a (BI)second (k)sign that Jesus performed when He had (BJ)come out of Judea into Galilee.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
54 This, therefore, was the second sign(BC) Jesus performed after He came from Judea to Galilee.(BD)
54 Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.
