Leviticus 19

Yahweh Is Holy

1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

1 The LORD spoke to Moses,

1 And the Lord said to Moses,

2 "Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, 'You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

2 "Tell the entire assembly of Israel that they are to be holy, since I, the LORD your God, am holy.

2 Say to all the assembly of the Israelites, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.

3 'Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am the LORD your God.

3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

3 "Each of you is to fear his mother and father. "Observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.

3 Each of you shall give due respect to his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths holy. I the Lord am your God.

4 'Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten gods; I am the LORD your God.

4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

4 "You are not to turn to their idols or cast gods out of melted metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.

4 Do not turn to idols and things of nought or make for yourselves molten gods. I the Lord am your God.

Eating The Peace Offering

5 'Now when you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.

5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.

5 "When you offer a peace offering to the LORD, you are to offer it for your acceptance.

5 And when you offer a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.

6 'It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and the next day; but what remains until the third day shall be burned with fire.

6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.

6 Your sacrifice is to be eaten on that day and the next day. Anything that remains to the third day is to be incinerated.

6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it and on the day following; and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire.

7 'So if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an offense; it will not be accepted.

7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

7 If it is eaten on the third day, it's unclean. It won't be accepted.

7 If it is eaten at all the third day, it is loathsome; it will not be accepted.

8 'Everyone who eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has profaned the holy thing of the LORD; and that person shall be cut off from his people.

8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

8 Anyone who eats it will bear the punishment of his sin, since he will have defiled himself regarding the LORD's holy things. That person is to be eliminated from contact with his people."

8 But everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, for he has profaned a holy thing of the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from his people [and not be included in the atonement made for them].
