Leviticus 9

Worship At The Tent Of Assembly

1 Now it came about on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel;

1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;

1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.

1 Eight days later, Moses called Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.

1 On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel;

2 and he said to Aaron, "Take for yourself a calf, a bull, for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without defect, and offer them before the LORD.

2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.

2 He said to Aaron, "Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present [them] before the Lord.

2 He told Aaron, "Take a young calf for a sin offering and a ram without defect for a whole burnt offering and bring them into the LORD's presence."

2 And he said to Aaron, Take a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, [each] without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

3 "Then to the sons of Israel you shall speak, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both one year old, without defect, for a burnt offering,

3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering;

3 And tell the Israelites: 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; a calf and a lamb, male yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering;

3 He also told the Israelis, "Bring a male goat for a sin offering, a calf, a year old lamb without defect for a whole burnt offering,

3 And say to the Israelites, Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering,

4 and an ox and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD, and a grain offering mixed with oil; for today the LORD will appear to you.'"

4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you.

4 an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the Lord; and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the Lord is going to appear to you.' "

4 an ox, a ram for a peace offering to sacrifice in the LORD's presence, and a grain offering with olive oil, because on that day the LORD will appear to you."

4 Also a bull and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the Lord, and a cereal offering mixed with oil, for today the Lord will appear to you.

5 So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the whole congregation came near and stood before the LORD.

5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.

5 They brought what Moses had commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the whole community came forward and stood before the Lord.

5 So they brought what Moses had commanded to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. The entire congregation drew near and stood in the LORD's presence.

5 They brought before the Tent of Meeting what Moses [had] commanded; all the congregation drew near and stood before the Lord.

6 Moses said, "This is the thing which the LORD has commanded you to do, that the glory of the LORD may appear to you."

6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.

6 Moses said, "This is what the Lord commanded you to do, that the glory of the Lord may appear to you."

6 Then Moses said, "This is what the LORD commanded you to do so that the glory of the LORD may be revealed to you."

6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded you to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.

7 Moses then said to Aaron, "Come near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, that you may make atonement for yourself and for the people; then make the offering for the people, that you may make atonement for them, just as the LORD has commanded."

7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded.

7 Then Moses said to Aaron, "Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering; make atonement for yourself and the people. Sacrifice the people's offering and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded."

7 Moses then told Aaron, "Approach the altar and bring your sin and whole burnt offerings. Make atonement for yourself and the people. Then bring the people's offering and make atonement for them, as the LORD commanded."

7 And Moses said to Aaron, Draw near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and for the people; and offer the offering of the people and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.

The Sin Offering For The Priests

8 So Aaron came near to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering which was for himself.

8 Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.

8 So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself.

8 So Aaron drew near to the altar and slaughtered the calf for a sin offering on behalf of himself.

8 So Aaron drew near to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was designated for himself.

9 Aaron's sons presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood and put some on the horns of the altar, and poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.

9 And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar:

9 Aaron's sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and applied it to the horns of the altar. He poured out the blood at the base of the altar.

9 Next, Aaron's sons brought the blood to him and he dipped his fingers in the blood and placed it on the horns of the altar. As to the rest of the blood, he poured it at the base of the altar.

9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar and poured out the blood at the altar's base;

10 The fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver of the sin offering, he then offered up in smoke on the altar just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

10 But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses.

10 He burned the fat, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe of the liver from the sin offering on the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

10 He incinerated the fat, the kidneys, and the appendage from the liver of the sin offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

10 But the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering he burned on the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

11 The flesh and the skin, however, he burned with fire outside the camp.

11 And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp.

11 He burned up the flesh and the hide outside the camp.

11 He also incinerated the meat and skin outside the camp.

11 And the flesh and the hide Aaron burned with fire outside the camp.

The Burnt Offering For The Priests

12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons handed the blood to him and he sprinkled it around on the altar.

12 And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar.

12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. Aaron's sons brought him the blood, and he sprinkled it on all sides of the altar.

12 And so the burnt offering was slaughtered, and Aaron's sons secured for him the blood, which he poured on the altar and around it.

12 He killed the burnt offering, and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he dashed round about upon the altar.

13 They handed the burnt offering to him in pieces, with the head, and he offered them up in smoke on the altar.

13 And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar.

13 They brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, along with the head, and he burned [them] on the altar.

13 As for the burnt offering, they delivered it to Aaron piece by piece, and he burned the head on the altar,

13 And they brought the burnt offering to him piece by piece, and the head, and Aaron burned them upon the altar.

14 He also washed the entrails and the legs, and offered them up in smoke with the burnt offering on the altar.

14 And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the altar.

14 He washed the entrails and the shanks and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.

14 washed the internal organs and thighs, and incinerated them on the altar, along with the whole burnt offering.

14 And he washed the entrails and the legs and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.

The Offerings For The People

15 Then he presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and slaughtered it and offered it for sin, like the first.

15 And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.

15 Aaron presented the people's offering. He took the male goat for the people's sin offering, slaughtered it, and made a sin offering with it as he did before.

15 He brought the people's offering, presenting a goat for a sin offering on behalf of the people. He slaughtered it and offered it as the first sin offering.

15 Then Aaron presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people and killed it and offered it for sin as he did the first sin offering.

16 He also presented the burnt offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.

16 And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner.

16 He presented the burnt offering and sacrificed it according to the regulation.

16 Then he brought the whole burnt offering and offered it according to procedure.

16 And he presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the ordinance.

17 Next he presented the grain offering, and filled his hand with some of it and offered it up in smoke on the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.

17 And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.

17 Next he presented the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning burnt offering.

17 Next, he brought the grain offering, filled his hand with it, and burned it on the altar next to the burnt offering for that morning.

17 And Aaron presented the cereal offering and took a handful of it and burned it on the altar in addition to the burnt offering of the morning.

18 Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings which was for the people; and Aaron's sons handed the blood to him and he sprinkled it around on the altar.

18 He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,

18 Finally, he slaughtered the ox and the ram as the people's fellowship sacrifice. Aaron's sons brought him the blood, and he sprinkled it on all sides of the altar.

18 He slaughtered the ox and ram for the peace offering sacrifice on behalf of the people. Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, which he poured on the altar and around it.

18 He also killed the bull and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings, for the people; and Aaron's sons presented to him the blood, which he dashed upon the altar round about,

19 As for the portions of fat from the ox and from the ram, the fat tail, and the fat covering, and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver,

19 And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver:

19 They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram-the fat tail, the [fat] surrounding [the entrails], the kidneys, and the fatty lobe of the liver-

19 As to the fat from the ox and the ram the tail, the fat covering the kidneys, and the appendage of the liver

19 And the fat of the bull and of the ram, the fat tail and that which covers the entrails, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver.

20 they now placed the portions of fat on the breasts; and he offered them up in smoke on the altar.

20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:

20 and placed these on the breasts. Aaron burned the fat portions on the altar,

20 they placed the fat on the breast and burned the fat on the altar.

20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and Aaron burned the fat upon the altar;

21 But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron presented as a wave offering before the LORD, just as Moses had commanded.

21 And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded.

21 but he waved the breasts and the right thigh as a presentation offering before the Lord, as Moses had commanded.

21 Aaron waved the breast and the right thigh as a raised offering in the LORD's presence, just as Moses had commanded.

21 But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before the Lord, as Moses commanded.

22 Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and he stepped down after making the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings.

22 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

22 Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. He came down after sacrificing the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the fellowship offering.

22 Aaron raised his hand toward the people and blessed them. Then he came down from the altar after offering the sin, whole burnt, and peace offerings.

22 Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them, and came down [from the altar] after offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.

23 Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. When they came out and blessed the people, the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.

23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.

23 Moses and Aaron then entered the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.

23 Moses and Aaron entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.

23 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord [the Shekinah cloud] appeared to all the people [as promised].

24 Then fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

24 Fire came out from the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell facedown [on the ground].

24 A fire came down from the LORD's presence and consumed the burnt offering on the altar as well as the fat. When the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

24 Then there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
