Judas Arranges To Betray Jesus

⁴ He went away to discuss with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver Jesus to them. ⁵ They were glad and agreed to give him money. ⁶ He consented and looked for a way to deliver him to them in the absence of the crowd.

I said to them, If it is good in your sight give me my wages, if not forget it. So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.

Matthew 27:3-5

Judas, his betrayer, heard he was to be put to death. Out of regret, he took the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and those in authority.
