Psalm 101

A Vow Of Integrity

1 I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, To You, O LORD, I will sing praises.

1 {A Psalm of David.} I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

1 I will sing about gracious love and justice; LORD, I will sing praise to you.

1 I will sing of mercy and loving-kindness and justice; to You, O Lord, will I sing.

2 I will give heed to the blameless way When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

2 I will pay attention to living a life of integrity when will I attain it? I will live with integrity of heart in my house.

2 I will behave myself wisely and give heed to the blameless way -- "O when will You come to me? I will walk within my house in integrity and with a blameless heart.

3 I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me.

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

3 I will not even think about doing anything lawless; I hate to do evil deeds; I will have none of it.

3 I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.

4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil.

4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

4 I will not allow anyone with a perverted mind in my presence; I will not be involved with anything evil.

4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil person or thing.

5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

5 I will destroy the one who secretly slanders a friend. I will not allow the proud and haughty to prevail.

5 Whoso privily slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off [from me]; he who has a haughty look and a proud and arrogant heart I cannot and I will not tolerate.

6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me.

6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

6 My eyes are looking at the faithful of the land, so they may live with me; The one who lives a life of integrity will serve me.

6 My eyes shall [look with favor] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks blamelessly, he shall minister to me.

7 He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

7 A deceitful person will not sit in my house; A liar will not remain in my presence.

7 He who works deceit shall not dwell in my house; he who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.

8 Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to cut off from the city of the LORD all those who do iniquity.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

8 Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, eliminating everyone who practices iniquity from the LORD's city. A prayer by the afflicted man who is overwhelmed and talks about his troubles with the LORD.

8 Morning after morning I will root up all the wicked in the land, that I may eliminate all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.
