The Path Of The Righteous And The Path Of The Wicked

1 Let the Lord be praised. Happy is the man who gives honour to the Lord, and has great delight in his laws.

1 (a)Praise (b)the Lord!How (A)blessed is the man who (c)fears the Lord,Who greatly (B)delights in His commandments.

1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

1 Hallelujah!(a)Happy is the man who fears the Lord,taking great delight in His commands.(A)

1 Hallelujah! How happy is the person who fears the LORD, who truly delights in his commandments.

2 His seed will be strong on the earth; blessings will be on the generation of the upright.

2 His (d)(C)descendants will be mighty (e)on earth;The generation of the (D)upright will be blessed.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

2 His descendants will be powerful in the land;the generation of the upright will be blessed.(B)

3 A store of wealth will be in his house, and his righteousness will be for ever.

4 For the upright there is a light shining in the dark; he is full of grace and pity.

5 All is well for the man who is kind and gives freely to others; he will make good his cause when he is judged.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

5 Good will come to a man who lends generouslyand conducts his business fairly.(G)

5 It is good for the person who lends generously, conducting his affairs with fairness.

6 He will not ever be moved; the memory of the upright will be living for ever.

6 For he will (I)never be shaken;The (J)righteous will be (g)remembered forever.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

6 He will never be shaken; the one who is just will always be remembered.

7 He will have no fear of evil news; his heart is fixed, for his hope is in the Lord.

7 He will not fear (K)evil tidings;His (L)heart is steadfast, (M)trusting in the Lord.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

7 He will not fear bad news;his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.(J)

7 He need not fear a bad report, for his heart is unshaken, since he trusts in the LORD.

8 His heart is resting safely, he will have no fear, till he sees trouble come on his haters.

8 His (N)heart is upheld, he (O)will not fear,Until he (P)looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

8 His heart is assured; he will not fear.(K)In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.(L)

8 His heart is steadfast, he will not fear. In the end he will look in triumph over his enemy.

9 He has given with open hands to the poor; his righteousness is for ever; his horn will be lifted up with honour.

9 (h)He (Q)has given freely to the poor,His righteousness endures forever;His (R)horn will be exalted in honor.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

9 He distributes freely to the poor;his righteousness endures forever.(M)His horn will be exalted in honor.(N)

9 He gives generously to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.

10 The sinner will see it with grief; he will be wasted away with envy; the desire of the evil-doers will come to nothing.

10 The (S)wicked will see it and be (i)vexed,He will (T)gnash his teeth and (U)melt away;The (V)desire of the wicked will perish.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

10 The wicked man will see it and be angry;he will gnash his teeth in despair.(O)The desire of the wicked man will come to nothing.(P)

10 The wicked person sees this and flies into a rage; his teeth gnash and wear away. The desire of the wicked will amount to nothing.
