1 Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the person who respects Jehovah and is happy to obey his commandments.

1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
1 Hallelujah! How happy is the person who fears the LORD, who truly delights in his commandments.
2 His descendants will grow strong on the earth. The family of the upright will be blessed.
2 His (d)(C)descendants will be mighty (e)on earth;The generation of the (D)upright will be blessed.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
2 His descendants will be powerful in the land, a generation of the upright who will be blessed.
4 Light shines in the darkness for the upright. He is gracious, compassionate, and fair.
4 Light arises in the darkness (F)for the upright;He is (G)gracious and compassionate and righteous.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
4 A light shines in the darkness for the upright, for the one who is gracious, compassionate, and just.
8 His heart is steady, and he is not afraid. In the end he will look triumphantly at his enemies.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 He gives freely to poor. His righteousness continues forever. His head is raised in honor.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked sees this and becomes angry. He angrily grits his teeth and disappears. The hope of the wicked will perish (be destroyed).
10 The (S)wicked will see it and be (i)vexed,He will (T)gnash his teeth and (U)melt away;The (V)desire of the wicked will perish.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
10 The wicked man will see it and be angry;he will gnash his teeth in despair.(O)The desire of the wicked man will come to nothing.(P)
10 The wicked person sees this and flies into a rage; his teeth gnash and wear away. The desire of the wicked will amount to nothing.
