([Psalm of David]) Blessed (happy) is the one who has concern for helpless people. Jehovah will rescue (save) him in times of trouble.
Jehovah will guard him and keep him alive. He will be blessed in the land. Do not place him at the mercy of his enemies.
Jehovah will support him on his sickbed. You will restore him to health when he is ill.
I said: O Jehovah, be gracious to me! Heal me for I have sinned against you.
My enemies say evil things about me: When will he die, and when will his family name disappear?
When one of them comes to visit me, he speaks falsehood. His heart collects gossip. Then he leaves to tell others.
All who hate me whisper together (gossip) against me; against me they devise my hurt, saying:
A wicked thing is poured out upon him, that when he lies down, he will not rise up again.
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
