God's Majestic Power

1 Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, And let those who hate Him flee before Him.

1 {To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David.} Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

1 God arises. His enemies scatter, and those who hate Him flee from His presence.

1 God arises, and his enemies are scattered. Those who hate him flee from his presence.

1 God is [already] beginning to arise, and His enemies to scatter; let them also who hate Him flee before Him!

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish before God.

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

2 As smoke is blown away, so You blow [them] away. As wax melts before the fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.

2 As smoke is driven away, so you drive them away. As wax melts in the presence of fire, so the wicked die in the presence of God.

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish before the presence of God.

3 But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God; Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.

3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

3 But the righteous are glad; they rejoice before God and celebrate with joy.

3 But the righteous rejoice and exult before God; they are overwhelmed with joy.

3 But let the [uncompromisingly] righteous be glad; let them be in high spirits and glory before God, yes, let them [jubilantly] rejoice!

4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts, Whose name is the LORD, and exult before Him.

4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

4 Sing to God! Sing praises to His name. Exalt Him who rides on the clouds - His name is Yahweh-and rejoice before Him.

4 Sing to God! Sing praise to his name! Exalt the one who rides on the clouds. The LORD is his name. Be jubilant in his presence.

4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name, cast up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts -- "His name is the Lord -- "be in high spirits and glory before Him!

6 God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

6 God provides homes for those who are deserted. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a scorched land.

6 God causes the lonely to dwell in families. He leads prisoners into prosperity, but rebels live on parched land.

6 God places the solitary in families and gives the desolate a home in which to dwell; He leads the prisoners out to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

8 The earth quaked; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

8 the earth trembled, and the skies poured down [rain] before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.

8 the land quaked. Indeed, the heavens poured down rain from the presence of God, this God of Sinai, from the presence of God, the God of Israel.

8 The earth trembled, the heavens also poured down [rain] at the presence of God; yonder Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

9 You shed abroad a plentiful rain, O God; You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched.

9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

9 You, God, showered abundant rain; You revived Your inheritance when it languished.

9 God, you poured out abundant rain on your inheritance. When Israel was weary, you sustained her.

13 When you lie down among the sheepfolds, You are like the wings of a dove covered with silver, And its pinions with glistening gold.

13 While you lie among the sheepfolds, the wings of a dove are covered with silver, and its feathers with glistening gold.

16 Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, At the mountain which God has desired for His abode? Surely the LORD will dwell there forever.

16 Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
