וַיְהִ֛י
way·hî
And it came to pass
בְּעַשְׁתֵּֽי־
bə·‘aš·tê-
in one
עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה
‘eś·rêh
[and] ten
､ שָׁנָ֖ה
šā·nāh
the year ､
בְּאֶחָ֣ד
bə·’e·ḥāḏ
on the first [day]
､ לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ
la·ḥō·ḏeš;
of the month ､
הָיָ֥ה
hā·yāh
דְבַר־
ḏə·ḇar-
the word
יְהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
אֵלַ֥י
’ê·lay
to me
､ לֵאמֹֽר׃
lê·mōr.
saying ､

בֶּן־
ben-
､ אָדָ֗ם
’ā·ḏām,
of man ､
יַ֠עַן
ya·‘an
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
אָ֨מְרָה
’ā·mə·rāh
צֹּ֤ר
ṣōr
עַל־
‘al-
､ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙
yə·rū·šā·lim
､ הֶאָ֔ח
he·’āḥ,
Aha ､
נִשְׁבְּרָ֛ה
niš·bə·rāh
דַּלְת֥וֹת
dal·ṯō·wṯ
– הָעַמִּ֖ים
hā·‘am·mîm
of the peoples –
נָסֵ֣בָּה
nā·sêb·bāh
אֵלָ֑י
’ê·lāy;
to me
､ אִמָּלְאָ֖ה
’im·mā·lə·’āh
I shall be filled ､
– הָחֳרָֽבָה׃
hā·ḥo·rā·ḇāh.
she is laid waste –

כֹּ֤ה

אָמַר֙
’ā·mar
אֲדֹנָ֣י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
the Lord
– יְהוִ֔ה
Yah·weh,
GOD –
הִנְנִ֥י
hin·nî
behold I [am]
עָלַ֖יִךְ
‘ā·la·yiḵ
､ צֹ֑ר
ṣōr;
Tyre ､
וְהַעֲלֵיתִ֤י
wə·ha·‘ă·lê·ṯî
and will cause to come up
עָלַ֙יִךְ֙
‘ā·la·yiḵ
גּוֹיִ֣ם
gō·w·yim
רַבִּ֔ים
rab·bîm,
כְּהַעֲל֥וֹת
kə·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ
as causes to come up
הַיָּ֖ם
hay·yām
the sea
. לְגַלָּֽיו׃
lə·ḡal·lāw.

וְשִׁחֲת֞וּ
wə·ši·ḥă·ṯū
חֹמ֣וֹת
ḥō·mō·wṯ
the walls
､ צֹ֗ר
ṣōr,
of Tyre ､
וְהָֽרְסוּ֙
wə·hā·rə·sū
– מִגְדָּלֶ֔יהָ
miḡ·dā·le·hā,
וְסִֽחֵיתִ֥י
wə·si·ḥê·ṯî
and I will scrape
עֲפָרָ֖הּ
‘ă·p̄ā·rāh
מִמֶּ֑נָּה
mim·men·nāh;
וְנָתַתִּ֥י
wə·nā·ṯat·tî
and make
אוֹתָ֖הּ
’ō·w·ṯāh
לִצְחִ֥יחַ
liṣ·ḥî·aḥ
like the top
. סָֽלַע׃
sā·la‘.
of a rock .

מִשְׁטַ֨ח
miš·ṭaḥ
חֲרָמִ֤ים
ḥă·rā·mîm
תִּֽהְיֶה֙
tih·yeh
it shall be [a] [place] [for]
בְּת֣וֹךְ
bə·ṯō·wḵ
in the midst
､ הַיָּ֔ם
hay·yām,
of the sea ､
כִּ֚י
kî
אֲנִ֣י
’ă·nî
I
דִבַּ֔רְתִּי
ḏib·bar·tî,
נְאֻ֖ם
nə·’um
אֲדֹנָ֣י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
the Lord
– יְהוִ֑ה
Yah·weh;
GOD –
וְהָיְתָ֥ה
wə·hā·yə·ṯāh
and it shall become
לְבַ֖ז
lə·ḇaz
. לַגּוֹיִֽם׃
lag·gō·w·yim.
for the nations .

וּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙
ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯe·hā
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה
baś·śā·ḏeh,
in the fields
– בַּחֶ֖רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
by the sword –
תֵּהָרַ֑גְנָה
tê·hā·raḡ·nāh;
וְיָדְע֖וּ
wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū
כִּי־
kî-
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
I [am]
. יְהוָֽה׃
Yah·weh.

the Lord

GOD –
הִנְנִ֧י

מֵבִ֣יא
mê·ḇî
will bring
אֶל־
’el-
צֹ֗ר
ṣōr,
נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֧ר
nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar
מֶֽלֶךְ־
me·leḵ-
､ בָּבֶ֛ל
bā·ḇel
of Babylon ､
､ מִצָּפ֖וֹן
miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn
from the north ､
מֶ֣לֶךְ
me·leḵ
､ מְלָכִ֑ים
mə·lā·ḵîm;
of kings ､
､ בְּס֛וּס
bə·sūs
with horses ､
､ וּבְרֶ֥כֶב
ū·ḇə·re·ḵeḇ
and with chariots ､
､ וּבְפָרָשִׁ֖ים
ū·ḇə·p̄ā·rā·šîm
and with horsemen ､
､ וְקָהָ֥ל
wə·qā·hāl
and an army ､
וְעַם־
wə·‘am-
and with people
. רָֽב׃
rāḇ.
8
בְּנוֹתַ֥יִךְ
bə·nō·w·ṯa·yiḵ
– בַּשָּׂדֶ֖ה
baś·śā·ḏeh
in the fields –
בַּחֶ֣רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
with the sword
יַהֲרֹ֑ג
ya·hă·rōḡ;
He will slay
וְנָתַ֨ן
wə·nā·ṯan
and he will heap up
עָלַ֜יִךְ
‘ā·la·yiḵ
דָּיֵ֗ק
dā·yêq,
וְשָׁפַ֤ךְ
wə·šā·p̄aḵ
and build
עָלַ֙יִךְ֙
‘ā·la·yiḵ
סֹֽלְלָ֔ה
sō·lə·lāh,
וְהֵקִ֥ים
wə·hê·qîm
and raise
עָלַ֖יִךְ
‘ā·la·yiḵ
. צִנָּֽה׃
ṣin·nāh.

וּמְחִ֣י
ū·mə·ḥî
קָֽבָלּ֔וֹ
qā·ḇāl·lōw,
יִתֵּ֖ן
yit·tên
He will direct
､ בְּחֹֽמוֹתָ֑יִךְ
bə·ḥō·mō·w·ṯā·yiḵ;
וּמִ֨גְדְּלֹתַ֔יִךְ
ū·miḡ·də·lō·ṯa·yiḵ,
יִתֹּ֖ץ
yit·tōṣ
he will break down
. בְּחַרְבוֹתָֽיו׃
bə·ḥar·ḇō·w·ṯāw.
with his axes .

מִשִּׁפְעַ֥ת
miš·šip̄·‘aṯ
סוּסָ֖יו
sū·sāw
יְכַסֵּ֣ךְ
yə·ḵas·sêḵ
will cover you
אֲבָקָ֑ם
’ă·ḇā·qām;
מִקּוֹל֩
miq·qō·wl
at the noise
､ פָּרַ֨שׁ
pā·raš
of the horsemen ､
､ וְגַלְגַּ֜ל
wə·ḡal·gal
and the wagons ､
､ וָרֶ֗כֶב
wā·re·ḵeḇ,
and the chariots ､
תִּרְעַ֙שְׁנָה֙
tir·‘aš·nāh
will shake
חֽוֹמוֹתַ֔יִךְ
ḥō·w·mō·w·ṯa·yiḵ,
בְּבֹאוֹ֙
bə·ḇō·’ōw
､ בִּשְׁעָרַ֔יִךְ
biš·‘ā·ra·yiḵ,
כִּמְבוֹאֵ֖י
kim·ḇō·w·’ê
as [men] enter
עִ֥יר
‘îr
. מְבֻקָּעָֽה׃
mə·ḇuq·qā·‘āh.
11
בְּפַרְס֣וֹת
bə·p̄ar·sō·wṯ
With the hooves
סוּסָ֔יו
sū·sāw,
יִרְמֹ֖ס
yir·mōs
he will trample
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
כָּל־
kāl-
. חֽוּצוֹתָ֑יִךְ
ḥū·ṣō·w·ṯā·yiḵ;
עַמֵּךְ֙
‘am·mêḵ
､ בַּחֶ֣רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
by the sword ､
יַהֲרֹ֔ג
ya·hă·rōḡ,
he will slay
וּמַצְּב֥וֹת
ū·maṣ·ṣə·ḇō·wṯ
עֻזֵּ֖ךְ
‘uz·zêḵ
לָאָ֥רֶץ
lā·’ā·reṣ
to the ground
. תֵּרֵֽד׃
tê·rêḏ.
will fall .
12
וְשָׁלְל֣וּ
wə·šā·lə·lū
And they will plunder
､ חֵילֵ֗ךְ
ḥê·lêḵ,
וּבָֽזְזוּ֙
ū·ḇā·zə·zū
､ רְכֻלָּתֵ֔ךְ
rə·ḵul·lā·ṯêḵ,
וְהָֽרְסוּ֙
wə·hā·rə·sū
and they will break down
､ חוֹמוֹתַ֔יִךְ
ḥō·w·mō·w·ṯa·yiḵ,
､ וּבָתֵּ֥י
ū·ḇāt·tê
and houses ､
חֶמְדָּתֵ֖ךְ
ḥem·dā·ṯêḵ
יִתֹּ֑צוּ
yit·tō·ṣū;
וַאֲבָנַ֤יִךְ
wa·’ă·ḇā·na·yiḵ
וְעֵצַ֙יִךְ֙
wə·‘ê·ṣa·yiḵ
וַֽעֲפָרֵ֔ךְ
wa·‘ă·p̄ā·rêḵ,
בְּת֥וֹךְ
bə·ṯō·wḵ
in the midst
מַ֖יִם
ma·yim
of the water
. יָשִֽׂימוּ׃
yā·śî·mū.
they will lay .
13
– וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֖י
wə·hiš·bat·tî
And I will put an end to –
הֲמ֣וֹן
hă·mō·wn
the sound
שִׁירָ֑יִךְ
šî·rā·yiḵ;
וְק֣וֹל
wə·qō·wl
and the sound
כִּנּוֹרַ֔יִךְ
kin·nō·w·ra·yiḵ,
לֹ֥א
lō
no
יִשָּׁמַ֖ע
yiš·šā·ma‘
. עֽוֹד׃
‘ō·wḏ.
14
וּנְתַתִּ֞יךְ
ū·nə·ṯat·tîḵ
And I will make you
לִצְחִ֣יחַ
liṣ·ḥî·aḥ
like the top
– סֶ֗לַע
se·la‘,
of a rock –
מִשְׁטַ֤ח
miš·ṭaḥ
– חֲרָמִים֙
ḥă·rā·mîm
nets –
תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה
tih·yeh,
you shall be [a] [place] [for]
לֹ֥א
lō
תִבָּנֶ֖ה
ṯib·bā·neh
､ ע֑וֹד
‘ō·wḏ;
more ､
כִּ֣י
kî
אֲנִ֤י
’ă·nî
I
. יְהוָה֙
Yah·weh
דִּבַּ֔רְתִּי

at the sound
､ מַפַּלְתֵּ֗ךְ
map·pal·têḵ,
of your fall ､
､ בֶּאֱנֹ֨ק
be·’ĕ·nōq
when cry ､
חָלָ֜ל
ḥā·lāl
בֵּהָ֤רֵֽג
bê·hā·rêḡ
הֶ֙רֶג֙
he·reḡ
בְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְ
bə·ṯō·w·ḵêḵ,
in the midst of you
יִרְעֲשׁ֖וּ
yir·‘ă·šū
. הָאִיִּֽים׃
hā·’î·yîm.
16
וְֽיָרְד֞וּ
wə·yā·rə·ḏū
And will come down
מֵעַ֣ל
mê·‘al
､ כִּסְאוֹתָ֗ם
kis·’ō·w·ṯām,
כֹּ֚ל
kōl
נְשִׂיאֵ֣י
nə·śî·’ê
הַיָּ֔ם
hay·yām,
of the sea
וְהֵסִ֙ירוּ֙
wə·hê·sî·rū
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
､ מְעִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם
mə·‘î·lê·hem,
וְאֶת־
wə·’eṯ-
and
. בִּגְדֵ֥י
biḡ·ḏê
רִקְמָתָ֖ם
riq·mā·ṯām
יִפְשֹׁ֑טוּ
yip̄·šō·ṭū;
– חֲרָד֤וֹת ׀
ḥă·rā·ḏō·wṯ
with trembling –
יִלְבָּ֙שׁוּ֙
yil·bā·šū
עַל־
‘al-
on
､ הָאָ֣רֶץ
hā·’ā·reṣ
the ground ､
יֵשֵׁ֔בוּ
yê·šê·ḇū,
they will sit
וְחָֽרְדוּ֙
wə·ḥā·rə·ḏū
､ לִרְגָעִ֔ים
lir·ḡā·‘îm,
וְשָׁמְמ֖וּ
wə·šā·mə·mū
and be astonished
. עָלָֽיִךְ׃
‘ā·lā·yiḵ.
at you .

וְנָשְׂא֨וּ
wə·nā·śə·’ū
And they will take up
עָלַ֤יִךְ
‘ā·la·yiḵ
קִינָה֙
qî·nāh
וְאָ֣מְרוּ
wə·’ā·mə·rū
and say
לָ֔ךְ
lāḵ,
to you
אֵ֣יךְ
’êḵ
､ אָבַ֔דְתְּ
’ā·ḇaḏt,
נוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת
nō·wō·še·ḇeṯ
､ מִיַּמִּ֑ים
mî·yam·mîm;
by seafaring [men] ､
､ הָעִ֣יר
hā·‘îr
city ､
הַהֻלָּ֗לָה
ha·hul·lā·lāh,
אֲשֶׁר֩
’ă·šer
הָיְתָ֨ה
hā·yə·ṯāh
חֲזָקָ֤ה
ḥă·zā·qāh
､ בַיָּם֙
ḇay·yām
at sea ､
הִ֣יא
hî
､ וְיֹשְׁבֶ֔יהָ
wə·yō·šə·ḇe·hā,
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
נָתְנ֥וּ
nā·ṯə·nū
caused [to] [be]
חִתִּיתָ֖ם
ḥit·tî·ṯām
לְכָל־
lə·ḵāl
on all
. יוֹשְׁבֶֽיהָ׃
yō·wō·šə·ḇe·hā.

עַתָּה֙
‘at·tāh
יֶחְרְד֣וּ
yeḥ·rə·ḏū
הָֽאִיִּ֔ן
hā·’î·yin,
י֖וֹם
yō·wm
on the day
– מַפַּלְתֵּ֑ךְ
map·pal·têḵ;
of your fall –
וְנִבְהֲל֛וּ
wə·niḇ·hă·lū
הָאִיִּ֥ים
hā·’î·yîm
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
בַּיָּ֖ם
bay·yām
by the sea
. מִצֵּאתֵֽךְ׃
miṣ·ṣê·ṯêḵ.

לֹֽא־
lō-
not
– נוֹשָׁ֑בוּ
nō·wō·šā·ḇū;
בְּהַעֲל֤וֹת
bə·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ
עָלַ֙יִךְ֙
‘ā·la·yiḵ
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
תְּה֔וֹם
tə·hō·wm,
the deep
וְכִסּ֖וּךְ
wə·ḵis·sūḵ
הַמַּ֥יִם
ham·ma·yim
. הָרַבִּֽים׃
hā·rab·bîm.

וְהוֹרַדְתִּיךְ֩
wə·hō·w·raḏ·tîḵ
אֶת־
’eṯ-
with
י֨וֹרְדֵי
yō·wr·ḏê
､ ב֜וֹר
ḇō·wr
into the Pit ､
אֶל־
’el-
to
עַ֣ם
‘am
the people
､ עוֹלָ֗ם
‘ō·w·lām,
of old ､
וְ֠הוֹשַׁבְתִּיךְ
wə·hō·wō·šaḇ·tîḵ
and I will make you dwell
､ בְּאֶ֨רֶץ
bə·’e·reṣ
in the earth ､
תַּחְתִּיּ֜וֹת
taḥ·tî·yō·wṯ
the lowest part of
כָּחֳרָב֤וֹת
kā·ḥo·rā·ḇō·wṯ
､ מֵֽעוֹלָם֙
mê·‘ō·w·lām
אֶת־
’eṯ-
with
י֣וֹרְדֵי
yō·wr·ḏê
､ ב֔וֹר
ḇō·wr,
to the Pit ､
לְמַ֖עַן
lə·ma·‘an
so that
לֹ֣א
lō
– תֵשֵׁ֑בִי
ṯê·šê·ḇî;
וְנָתַתִּ֥י
wə·nā·ṯat·tî
צְבִ֖י
ṣə·ḇî
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ
bə·’e·reṣ
in the land
– חַיִּֽים׃
ḥay·yîm.
of the living –
21
､ בַּלָּה֥וֹת
bal·lā·hō·wṯ
a terror ､
אֶתְּנֵ֖ךְ
’et·tə·nêḵ
I will make you
וְאֵינֵ֑ךְ
wə·’ê·nêḵ;
and you [shall] [be] no [more]
､ וּֽתְבֻקְשִׁ֗י
ū·ṯə·ḇuq·šî,
וְלֹֽא־
wə·lō-
and never
תִמָּצְאִ֥י
ṯim·mā·ṣə·’î
you will be found
､ עוֹד֙
‘ō·wḏ
again ､
לְעוֹלָ֔ם
lə·‘ō·w·lām,
נְאֻ֖ם
nə·’um
אֲדֹנָ֥י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
the Lord
. יְהֹוִֽה׃
Yah·weh.
