'By the Sword' in the Bible

And I looked, and behold, a pale green horse, and the one seated on it {was named} Death, and Hades followed after him. And authority was granted to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill by the sword and by famine and by pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

If anyone [is going] into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone [is] to be killed by the sword, by the sword he [is] to be killed. Here is the patient endurance and the faith of the saints.

And the rest were killed by the sword of the one who is seated on the horse--the [sword] that comes out of his mouth--and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
