'Fear of God' in the Bible

"There was," he said, "in a certain town a judge, who had no fear of God nor regard for man.

For a time the judge refused, but afterwards he said to himself 'Although I am without fear of God or regard for man,

But the other rebuked him. "Have not you," he said, "any fear of God, now that you are under the same sentence?

'The fear of God is not before their eyes.'

You are bound, therefore, to obey, not only through fear of God's punishments, but also as a matter of conscience.
