'In the Wilderness' in the Bible

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zachariah in the wilderness.

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it?
