'It is Written' in the Bible
And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea; for thus it is written by the prophet:
But he answered and said, It is written, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God."
and saith to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, "He will give his angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone."
Jesus said to him, Again it is written, "Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God."
Then saith Jesus to him, Be gone, Satan! for it is written, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
For this is he of whom it is written: "Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee."
and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer; but ye make it a den of robbers."
Then Jesus saith to them, This night will all of you fall away from me; for it is written, "I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered."
as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: "Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;"
And he said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, "This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
And Jesus saith to them, Ye will all fall away from me; for it is written, "I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered."
as it is written in the law of the Lord: "Every firstborn male shall be called holy to the Lord,"
