'My Father' in the Bible

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Lo! I lay, last night with my father, let us cause him to drink wine this night also, and go thou in - lie with him, that we may keep alive from our father, a seed.

Moreover also, in truth, my sister daughter of my father, she is, only not daughter of my mother, - so she became my wife.

And he said unto me, - Yahweh, before whom I have walked to and fro, will send his messenger with thee, so shall he prosper thy way, and thou shalt take a wife for my son out of my kindred and out of the house of my father.

peradventure my father might feel me, then should I be in his eyes as one that mocketh, - and should bring upon myself a reproach, and not a blessing!

So he went in unto his father, and said My father! And he said Behold me! who art, thou, my son?

Then, he too, made dainty meats, and brought in to his father, - and said to his father, Let my father rise that he may eat of the game of his son, To the end thy soul may bless me!

When Esau heard the words of his father, then cried he out with an outcry loud and bitter exceedingly, - and said to his father, Bless even me also, O my father!

And Esau said unto his father, But one blessing, hast thou, O my father? Bless, me also, O my father! And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.

and I come back in prosperity unto the house of my father, Then will Yahweh prove to be my God, -

and said to them, Beholding, am I the face of your father, that it is not towards me as aforetime, - nevertheless, the God of my father, hath been with me;

But that the God of my father - The God of Abraham, and the Dread of Isaac - Proved to he mine, Surely even now, empty, hadst thou let me go? My humiliation and the wearying toil of my hands, God had seen, And therefore gave sentence last night!

And Jacob said, God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, - Yahweh, who wast saying unto me, - Return to thy land and to thy kindred that I may deal well with thee:

And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh, - For God hath made me forget all my trouble, and all the house of my father.

So it came to pass when we had gone up unto thy servant, my father, that we told him the words of my lord.

Then said thy servant my father, unto us, - Ye yourselves, know, that, two, did my wife bear to me,

Now, therefore, as surely as I go in unto thy servant my father, and, the lad, is not with us, - seeing that his soul is bound up with the lads soul,

For thy servant, became surety for the lad, while away from my father saying, - If I bring him not unto thee, then will I count myself a sinner against my father all the days.

For how can I go up unto my father, should the lad, not be with me? lest I look on the calamity, that shall find out my father,

Then said Joseph unto his brethren: I, am Joseph, is my father yet alive? But his brethren could not answer him, for they were terrified because of him.

Haste ye and go up unto my father, then shall ye say unto him - Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath appointed me lord to all Egypt, - come down unto me do not delay;

As soon as ye have told my father all my honour in Egypt, and all that ye have seen, so soon shall ye hasten and bring down my father hither.

Then said Joseph unto his brethren and unto the house of his father, I must go up, and must tell Pharaoh - and must say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father, who were in the land of Canaan, have come in unto me.

So then Joseph went in, and told Pharaoh, and said - My father and my brethren, and their flocks and their herds and all that they have, are come in from the land of Canaan, - and, here they are, in the land of Goshen.

And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my sojournings, have been a hundred and thirty years, - Few and evil, have been the days of the years of my life, neither have they attained unto the days of the years of the lives of my fathers, in the days of their sojournings.

When I shall lie down with my fathers, then shalt thou carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said: I, will do according to thy word.

The Messenger - who hath been my redeemer from all evil - bless the lads! And may there be called upon them, my name, and the name of my fathers. Abraham and Isaac; And may they swarm into a multitude, in the midst of the earth!

And Joseph said unto his father - Not so, my father! for, this, is the firstborn, lay thy right hand upon his head.

Then commanded he them and said unto them - I, am about to be gathered unto my people, Bury me among my fathers, - within the cave, that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite:

My father, made me swear saying, - Lo! I, am about to die, - in my grave which I digged for myself in the land of Canaan, there, shalt thou bury me. Now, therefore, let me go up, I pray thee and bury my father, and return.
