'Wise Man' in the Bible
But Amnon had a companion called Jonadab, the son of Shimeah the brother of David: which Jonadab was a very wise man.
And now I have sent a wise man and a man of understanding called Huramabi,
And through the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a wise man from among the children of Mahli the son of Levi the son of Israel, even Sherebiah, with his sons and brethren, eighteen;
"Should a wise man's answer be as the science of the wind, and fill his belly with the wind of the east?
"As for you, turn you, and get you hence, I pray you - seeing I cannot see one wise man among you.
An unwise man will not know this, and a fool will not understand it -
By hearing, the wise man shall come by more wisdom:
Reprove not a scorner, lest he owe thee evil will: but rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
A wise man will receive warning; but a fool will sooner be smitten in the face.
A fool bringeth up a slander of his neighbour; but a wise man will keep it secret.
