Matthew 16:5-12 - Beware The Leaven Of The Pharisees And Sadducees

⁵ And when his disciples came to the other side they forgot to take bread.

⁶ And Jesus said to them, Observe and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

⁷ But they reasoned within themselves, saying, It is because we have not taken bread.

⁸ But Jesus knowing it, said, Why do you reason within yourselves, men of little faith, because you have not taken bread? ⁹ Do you not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many travelling-baskets you took up? ¹⁰ nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many store-baskets you took up? ¹¹ Why do you not understand that I spoke to you not of bread, to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees? ¹² Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
