Romans 1:1-7 - Greeting
1 Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, called as an apostle, set apart to preach God's good news, 2 which long ago He promised through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 about His Son, who on the physical side became a descendant of David, and on the holy, spiritual side 4 proved to be God's Son in power by the resurrection from the dead -- I mean, Jesus Christ, our Lord, 5 through whom we have received God's favor and a commission as an apostle in His name to urge upon all the heathen obedience inspired by faith, 6 among whom you too as called ones belong to Jesus Christ --
7 to all those in Rome who are God's loved ones, called to be His people: spiritual blessing and peace be yours from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Paul, by the will of God called as an apostle of Jesus Christ, and our brother Sosthenes,
2 to the church of God at Corinth, to those who are consecrated by union with Christ Jesus, and called to be God's people, in fellowship with those who anywhere call upon the name of Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
3 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Paul, an apostle sent not from men or by any man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead -- 2 and all the brothers who are here with me -- to the churches of Galatia:
3 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, to save us from the present wicked world in accordance with the will of our God and Father; 5 to Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonian church in union with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: spiritual blessing and peace be to you.
1 Paul, a slave of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to stimulate faith in God's chosen people and to lead them on to a full knowledge of religious truth, 2 in the hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago 3 but at the proper time made known as His message through the message that I preach with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Saviour;
4 to Titus, my genuine child in our common faith: be spiritual blessing and peace from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
1 James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, sends greetings to the twelve tribes that are scattered over the world.
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the foreign-born Jews who are scattered over Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 the people chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the consecration of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with His blood: spiritual blessing and peace to you in increasing abundance.
1 Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ have obtained the same precious faith that we have: 2 spiritual blessing and peace be to you in increasing abundance through a full knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
3 because His divine power has given us everything that is needful for life and piety, through our full knowledge of Him who through His glory and excellence has called us to Him. 4 It is through these that He has given us His precious and glorious promises, so that through them, after you have escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desires, you may come to share in the divine nature. 5 Now for this very reason you must do your level best to supplement your faith with moral character, moral character with knowledge, 6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with patient endurance, patient endurance with piety, 7 piety with brotherly affection, brotherly affection with universal love.
