Matthew 16:21-23 - Jesus Predicts His Death And Resurrection

Matthew 16:21-23

21 From that time Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and rise again on the third day. 22 Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord! This shall not be to thee.

23 But he turned and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan! thou art my stumblingblock; for thy thoughts are not on the things of God, but on those of men.

Mark 8:31-33

31 And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be put to death, and after three days rise again; 32 and he told them this plainly. And Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him.

33 But he turning about and looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me, Satan! for thy thoughts are not on the things of God, but on those of men.

Luke 9:21-22

21 But he strictly charged them, and commanded them to tell this to no one; 22 saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and rise again on the third day.
