Matthew 16:13-20

13 And when Jesus came into the parts of Cesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am?

14 And they answered, Some say thou art John the Baptist, others Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 But, saith He unto them, whom do ye say that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus replied and said unto him, Blessed art thou Simon son of Jonas, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say unto thee, as thou art called Peter, so upon this rock, which thou hast confessed, will I build my church, and the gates of death shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

20 Then charged He his disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Messiah.

Mark 8:27-30

27 Then Jesus and his disciples went out into the towns of Cesarea Philippi: and by the way He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am?

28 And they answered, Some say, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

29 And He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered and saith, Thou art the Christ.

30 And He charged them, that they should say this to no one concerning Him:
