Luke 14:15-24 - The Parable Of The Large Banquet

¹⁵ And one of those reclining with Him, hearing these things, said to Him, "happy is he who shall eat bread in the Kingdom of God!"

¹⁶ But He said to him, "A certain man was making a great supper, and invited many. ¹⁷ And he sent forth his servant, at the hour of the supper, to say to those invited, 'Come; because all things are now ready.'

¹⁸ "And they all, with one consent, began to make excuse. The first said to him, 'I bought a field, and I must go out to see it; I pray you, have me excused.'

¹⁹ And another said, 'I bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to prove them; I pray you, have me excused.'

²⁰ And another said, 'I married a wife; and, therefore, I cannot come.'

²¹ "And, coming near, the servant reported these things to his lord. Then the householder, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city; and bring in here the poor, and maimed, and blind, and lame.'

²² And the servant said, 'Sir, what you ordered has been done, and still there is room.'

²³ And the lord said to the servant, 'Go forth into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled; ²⁴ for I say to you, that no one of those men who have been invited shall taste of my supper."
