Matthew 25:1-13 - The Parable Of The Ten Virgins

Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be likened unto ten virgins, who taking their lamps, went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 For the foolish, taking their lamps, took no oil with themselves: 4 and the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But the bridegroom tarrying, they all nodded and slept.

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom! go ye out to meet him.

Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.

And the wise responded, saying, No, lest there may not be a sufficiency for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And they going to buy, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.

And afterwards the other virgins come, saying; Lord, lord, open unto us.

And he responding, said; Truly I say unto you, I know you not.

Watch therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour.
