John 12:36-43 - The Unbelief Of The People
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, in order that you may be the sons of light. And Jesus spoke these things, and having gone out was hidden from them.
37 And He having done so many miracles in their presence, they were not believing on Him, 38 in order that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
39 Wherefore were they not able to believe, because Isaiah again said,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; in order that they may not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and turn, and I shall heal them.
41 Isaiah said these things, because he saw His glory; and spoke concerning Him.
42 Nevertheless indeed many of the rulers also believed on Him; but they were not confessing Him on account of the Pharisees, in order that they might not be put out of the synagogues: 43 for they loved the glory of the people more than the glory of God.
