De'uel, or De-u'el
(invocation of God), father of Eliasaph, the "captain" of the tribe of Gad at the time of the numbering of the people at Sinai.
(B.C. 1491.) The same man is mentioned again in
but here the name appears as Ruel.
"Then comes the tribe of Gad, and the leader of the sons of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel,
