Now Laban was gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel stole the teraphim that were her father's.
And they journeyed from Bethel. And there was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.
And Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem). And Jacob set up a pillar upon her grave, the same is the Pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.
And as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to come to Ephrath. And I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem).
And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem-judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.
