For the passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those that sold oxen,

and having made a whip of small cords He drove them all, out of the temple; with the sheep and the oxen: and He poured out the changers money, and threw down the tables.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again: then said the Jews,

Forty and six years has this temple been in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? but He spake of the temple of his body.

Therefore they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus concealed Himself, and went out of the temple, through the midst of them, and so passed on.

So they sought for Jesus, and said to one another in the temple, What think ye? that He will not come to the feast?

Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world, I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, whither the Jews are continually resorting: and in secret have said nothing. Why dost thou ask me?
