as it is written [in Scripture], “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not lack.”

Therefore, show these men, in the sight of the churches, the proof of your love and our reason for being proud of you.

We are not overstepping the limits of our province, as if we did not [legitimately] reach to you, for we were the [very] first to come even as far as you with the good news of Christ.
