For the Good News is come to us just as it did to them. But the message they heard was of no benefit to them, because they did not share the faith of those who gave heed to it.

Because it is clear that our Lord comes out of Judah, and Moses said nothing about priests from that tribe.

And this is even more clear if a second priest has come up who is like Melchizedek,

for a disannulling indeed doth come of the command going before because of its weakness, and unprofitableness,

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

And these having been thus adjusted, the priests come continually into the first tabernacle, performing the services:

Because they are only rules of the flesh, of meats and drinks and washings, which have their place till the time comes when things will be put right.

For such a Covenant takes effect only upon death, it does not come into force as long as the testator is alive.
