And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
And there some people brought to him a paralyzed man on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man: "Courage, Child! Your sins are forgiven."
As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew (Levi) sitting in the tax collector’s booth; and He said to him,
And he rose and followed him. And while he was at table in Matthew's house, there came many tax-gatherers and sinners, and they dined with Jesus and his disciples.
Jesus said to them, "Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn while the Bridegroom is with them! But there will come days, when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast."
While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, screaming loudly, “Have mercy and compassion on us,
And when He had entered the house [i.e., probably a friend's house there in Capernaum. See 8:20], the blind men came in [after Him]. Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do what you are asking?" They replied, "Yes, Lord."
And as they went forth, behold, there was brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.
and when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spake; and the multitudes were amazed, saying, there had never been seen the like in Israel:
And beholding the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were fainting, and lying here and there, as sheep that had no shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, There is much grain but not enough men to get it in.
And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and to preach in their [Galilean] cities.
Then what did you go out there to see? A man luxuriously dressed? Men who dress in that way you find in the palaces of kings.
Then why did you go out there? Was it to see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet!
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
the son of man does not abstain from eating and drinking, and they cry there's a glutton, and a sot, a friend of publicans and sinners: "but wisdom is justified by her children."
But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what

Then there was brought to Him a demoniac, blind, and dumb; and He healed him, so that the dumb man spake and saw.
Knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Every kingdom in which civil war has raged suffers desolation; and every city or house in which there is internal strife will be brought low.
So I say to you, Every sin and every evil word against God will have forgiveness; but for evil words against the Spirit there will be no forgiveness.
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
There will stand up men of Nineveh at the Judgement together with the present generation, and will condemn it; because they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and mark! there is One greater than Jonah here.
The Queen of the south will awake at the Judgement together with the present generation, and will condemn it; because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and mark! there is One greater than Solomon here.
"No sooner however has the foul spirit gone out of the man, then he roams about in places where there is no water, seeking rest but finding none.
Then he says, I will go back into my house from which I came out; and when he comes, he sees that there is no one in it, but that it has been made fair and clean.

and holding out his hand towards his disciples, see there, said he, my mother, and my brothers.
And there were gathered unto him great multitudes, so that he entered into a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach.
Whosoever heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the evil man, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. And this is he which was sown by the wayside.
yet hath he no root in himself, but is, only for a season, - and, there arising, tribulation or persecution because of the word, straightway, he findeth cause of stumbling.
But while men slept, there came his foe, and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Another parable He spoke to them. "The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "is like yeast which a woman takes and buries in a bushel of flour, for it to work there till the whole mass has risen."
He then left the crowds and went into the house. [While there] His disciples came to Him, and said, "Explain to us [the meaning of] the parable of the weeds in the field."
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
When it was full, they took it up on the sands; and seated there they put the good into vessels, but the bad they put away.

When Jesus had finished these parables, He left there.
So they turned angrily away from Him. But Jesus said to them, "There is no prophet left without honour except in his own country and among his own family."
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
When Jesus heard about John, He left there privately in a boat and went to a secluded place. But when the crowds heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
But Jesus said to them, There is no need for them to go away; give them food yourselves.
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
And in the evening, he was there alone: but the vessel was now in the midst of the sea, tossed by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
But instantly Jesus spoke to them, and said, "There is no danger; it is I; do not be afraid."
And Peter responding said, Lord, if thou art there, command me to come to thee on the waters.
When the people there recognized him, they sent word into all the surrounding area, and they brought all their sick to him.
There is no need for him to give honour to his father. And you have made the word of God without effect because of your teaching.
There, a Canaanite woman of that district came out and began calling to Jesus: "Take pity on me, Master, Son of David; my daughter is grievously possessed by a demon."
And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
And there came unto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and they cast them down at this feet; and he healed them:
And His disciples say to Him, Whence is there to us so much bread in the wilderness, as to feed so great a multitude?

And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud shadowed them. And behold, there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is my dear son, in whom I delight; hear him."
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
And he says to them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say to this mountain, Be transported hence there, and it shall transport itself; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
When they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them,
He answered, "Yes." When Jesus reached home -- He got there ahead of Simon -- He asked him, "What do you think about it, Simon? From whom do civil rulers collect duties or taxes, from their own citizens or from aliens?"
And, whosoever shall cause to stumble one of these little ones who believe in me, it profiteth him, that there be hung a large mill-stone about his neck, and he be sunk in the wide main of the sea.
'Woe to the world from the stumbling-blocks! for there is a necessity for the stumbling-blocks to come, but woe to that man through whom the stumbling-block doth come!
What think ye? if a man may have an hundred sheep, and there may go astray one of them, doth he not -- having left the ninety-nine, having gone on the mountains -- seek that which is gone astray?
Thus, there is no desire, in the presence of my Father who is in the heavens, that, one of these little ones, should be lost.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what [essentially] good thing shall I do to obtain eternal life [that is, eternal salvation in the Messiah’s kingdom]?”
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Then Peter answered [and] said to him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then will there be for us?"
And about the eleventh [hour] he went out [and] found others standing [there] and said to them, 'Why are you standing here the whole day unemployed?'
Is thine eye evil because I am good? Thus the last shall be first, and the first last; for there are many called, but few chosen.
