So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s anger subsided.
And Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and with a robe of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan shouted and rejoiced. The Jews had light [a dawn of new hope] and gladness and joy and honor.
