And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.


"But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

A fool's lips bring strife, And his mouth calls for blows. A fool's mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.


For in many dreams and in many words there is emptiness. Rather, fear God.

Like a thorn which falls into the hand of a drunkard,
So is a proverb in the mouth of fools.




The mind of the intelligent seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on folly.




Wise men store up knowledge,
But with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand.

The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
But the hearts of fools are not so.


Like the legs which are useless to the lame,
So is a proverb in the mouth of fools.


“O that you would be completely silent,
And that it would become your wisdom!

"Is there no limit to windy words? Or what plagues you that you answer? "I too could speak like you, If I were in your place. I could compose words against you And shake my head at you.

“Who is this that darkens counsel
By words without knowledge?

Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
Or you will also be like him.

Do not slander a slave to his master,
Or he will curse you and you will be found guilty.

the beginning of his talking is folly and the end of it is wicked madness. Yet the fool multiplies words No man knows what will happen, and who can tell him what will come after him?
