The fury of a king is like messengers of death,
But a wise man will appease it.


Righteous lips are the delight of kings,
And he who speaks right is loved.




A divine decision is in the lips of the king;
His mouth should not err in judgment.


A wise king winnows the wicked,
And drives the threshing wheel over them.






The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts wisely,
But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.


A king who sits on the throne of justice
Disperses all evil with his eyes.


The strength of the King loves justice;
You have established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.







But the Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had not been for me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God has seen my affliction and the toil of my hands, so He rendered judgment last night.”

"The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God was with him, and rescued him from all his afflictions, and granted him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his household.


Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who had charge of all that he owned, “Please place your hand under my thigh,

but you will go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”

So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge.





He who tends the fig tree will eat its fruit,
And he who cares for his master will be honored.

And he said, “Come in, blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside since I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels?”


A servant who acts wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully,
And will share in the inheritance among brothers.

You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.”


But Laban said to him, “If now it pleases you, stay with me; I have divined that the Lord has blessed me on your account.”

Now his master saw that the Lord was with him and how the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.


The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give this land,’ He will send His angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son from there.

He said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken His lovingkindness and His truth toward my master; as for me, the Lord has guided me in the way to the house of my master’s brothers.”


For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord’s freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ’s slave.




So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge. It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; thus the LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field.


no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.




Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; it was named Allon-bacuth.




Now his master saw that the Lord was with him and how the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.


not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
