6 Bible Verses about Agony, Death

God raised {him} up, having brought to an end the pains of death, because it was not possible [for] him to be held by it.

"The spirits of the dead tremble below [the] waters and their inhabitants.

The ropes of death encircled me, and streams of ruin overwhelmed me. The ropes of Sheol surrounded me; [the] snares of death confronted me. In my trouble I called on Yahweh, and to my God I cried for help. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry for help came up before his presence into his ears.

[As] with a shattering in my bones my oppressors taunt me, while they say to me {all day}, "Where [is] your God?"

My heart trembles within me, and deathly terrors fall on me.
