Then the devil left him, and angels came and began ministering to his needs.

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people: Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger."

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight. As they were still staring into the sky while he was going, suddenly two men in white clothing stood near them and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you saw him go into heaven."

For he will order his angels to protect you in all you do. They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.

[Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and that he would send me more than twelve legions of angels right now?

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.
