And they watched Jesus closely, to see if he would cure the man on the Sabbath, so that they might have a charge to bring against him. And to the people he said: "Is it allowable to do good on the Sabbath--or harm? to save a life, or destroy it?" As they remained silent, Jesus looked round at them in anger, grieving at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man: "Stretch out your hand." The man stretched it out; and his hand had become sound. Immediately on leaving the Synagogue, the Pharisees and the Herodians united in laying a plot against Jesus, to put him to death.
They came to Jerusalem. Jesus went into the Temple Courts, and began to drive out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of the pigeon-dealers,

So he made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the Temple Courts, and the sheep and bullocks as well; he scattered the money of the money-changers, and overturned their tables, And said to the pigeon-dealers: "Take these things away. Do not turn my Father's House into a market-house." His disciples remembered that Scripture said--'Zeal for thy House will consume me.'
