And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.

And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:

and he shall take away its crop with the filth thereof, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, in the place of the ashes:

And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh; and he shall take up the ashes whereto the fire hath consumed the burnt-offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water for impurity: it is a sin-offering. And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

And for the unclean they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin-offering; and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling them that have been defiled, sanctify unto the cleanness of the flesh:

And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which Jehovah hath spoken: Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.

The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of Jehovah.
