The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, who made a marriage for his son,

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her. And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.

So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

And you yourselves be like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.

And he said unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the steward of the feast. And they bore it. When the steward of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not from where it was: (but the servants who drew the water knew;) the steward of the feast called the bridegroom,

And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they who are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

And when an opportune day was come, Herod on his birthday made a supper for his lords, high captains, and chief men of Galilee;

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings boiled they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them quickly among all the lay people.
