7 Bible Verses about Children, A Blessing

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.

How blessed [happy and fortunate] is the man whose quiver is filled with them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies [in gatherings] at the [city] gate.

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who sires a wise child will have joy in him.

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
Within the innermost part of your house;
Your children will be like olive plants
Around your table.

A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.

My son, be wise, and make my heart glad,
That I may reply to him who reproaches (reprimands, criticizes) me.

A man who loves [skillful and godly] wisdom makes his father joyful,
But he who associates with prostitutes wastes his wealth.

And bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let us [invite everyone and] feast and celebrate; for this son of mine was [as good as] dead and is alive again; he was lost and has been found.’ So they began to celebrate.
