But when the Jewish leaders in Thessalonica found out that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul also in Berea, they went there to upset and incite the crowds.

Just as Paul was about to be taken into the barracks, he asked the tribune, "May I say something to you?" The tribune asked, "Oh, do you speak Greek? You're not the Egyptian who started a revolt some time ago and led 4,000 assassins into the desert, are you?" Paul replied, "I'm a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city. Please let me speak to the people." The tribune gave him permission, and Paul, standing on the steps, motioned for the people to be silent. When everyone had quieted down, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language:

As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away to the neighboring villages and farms so they can rest and get some food, because we are here in a deserted place." But he told them, "You give them something to eat." They replied, "We have nothing more than five loaves of bread and two fish unless we go and buy food for all these people." Now there were about 5,000 men. So he told his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about 50." read more.

I don't want to send them away without food, or they may faint on the road." The disciples asked him, "Where in the wilderness are we to get enough bread to feed such a crowd?" So the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came forward fearfully, fell down trembling in front of him, and told him the whole truth. He told her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed from your illness."

As he approached the entrance to the city, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother's only son, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was with her.

As Jesus was approaching Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the road begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him that Jesus from Nazareth was coming by. read more.

The sick man answered him, "Sir, I don't have anyone to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I'm trying to get there, someone else steps down ahead of me." Jesus told him, "Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!" The man immediately became well, and he picked up his mat and started walking. Now that day was a Sabbath.

Then Jesus looked upward and said, "Father, I thank you for hearing me. I know that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me."
