And Jesus hearing this said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.

Now he is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him.

since we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dieth no more; death hath dominion over him no longer.

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.

"I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"? He is not a God of the dead, but of the living.

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!
