And the name of Hebron was called in old time, Kiriatharba, which was a huge man among the Anakims. And the land ceased from war.

Joshua 24:15-25

But if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, then choose you this day, whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, that were on the other side of the water, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land, ye dwelt. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." And the people answered and said, "God forbid that we should forsake the LORD and serve strange gods. And David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail him because of him. Thy servant will go and fight with his Philistine." And Saul said to David again, "Thou art not able to go unto this Philistine, to fight with him. For thou art but a lad, and he hath been a man of war even from his youth." And though Noah, Daniel and Job these three men were among them, yet shall they in their righteousness deliver but their own souls, sayeth the LORD God.

James 5:10-11

Take, my brethren, the prophets: for an example of suffering adversity, and of long patience, which spake in the name of the Lord. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have known what end the Lord made. For the Lord is very pitiful, and merciful.
