Genesis 7:4

For in seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the ground every living thing that I have made."

Genesis 8:2

The fountains of the deep and the floodgates of heaven were closed, and the rain stopped falling from the sky.

Genesis 7:17-20

The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth. Genesis 7:24

Genesis 7:21-23

Genesis 8:1

And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma and said to himself, "I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, even though the inclination of their minds is evil from childhood on. I will never again destroy everything that lives, as I have just done. Isaiah 54:9

Genesis 9:12-17

Daniel 9:26

Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.

Through these things the world existing at that time was destroyed when it was deluged with water. But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
