For this is he concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.

Then he took the twelve, and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he will be delivered to the Gentiles, and will be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spitted on; And they will scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he will rise again.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that its desolation is nigh. Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them who are in the midst of it depart from it; and let not them that are in the countries enter into it. But woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest to me I have kept, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
