Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
Jesus performed this first sign in Cana of Galilee. He displayed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
So they said to each other, “Weren’t our hearts ablaze within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?”
Then He told them, “These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
He was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.” He said to them, “Whenever you pray, say:
Father,
Your name be honored as holy.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves also forgive everyone
in debt to us.
And do not bring us into temptation.”
He answered them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those outside, everything comes in parables so that
they may look and look,
yet not perceive;
they may listen and listen,
yet not understand;
otherwise, they might turn back—
and be forgiven.”
And He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, He would explain everything to His own disciples.
Then turning to His disciples He said privately, “The eyes that see the things you see are blessed! For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things you see yet didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn’t hear them.”
He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.” For many people were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
From then on Jesus began to point out to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day.
