But the Pharisee seeing it wondered that he had not first washed before dinner.
And it came to pass as he lay at table in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners lay at table with Jesus and his disciples; for they were many, and they followed him.
But one of the Pharisees begged him that he would eat with him. And entering into the house of the Pharisee he took his place at table;

And they constrained him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is declining. And he entered in to stay with them. And it came to pass as he was at table with them, having taken the bread, he blessed, and having broken it, gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognised him. And he disappeared from them.
