15 Bible Verses about Killing Disciples

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the people slaughtered because of God’s word and the testimony they had.

But all who heard him were astounded and said, “Isn’t this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I was standing by and approving, and I guarded the clothes of those who killed him.’

I actually did this in Jerusalem, and I locked up many of the saints in prison, since I had received authority for that from the chief priests. When they were put to death, I cast my vote against them.

But the farmers took his slaves, beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.

Then he sent another, and they killed that one. He also sent many others; they beat some and they killed some.

So a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow slaves and their brothers, who were going to be killed just as they had been.

Because they poured out
the blood of the saints and the prophets,
You also gave them blood to drink;
they deserve it!

So he sent orders and had John beheaded in the prison.

The king immediately sent for an executioner and commanded him to bring John’s head. So he went and beheaded him in prison,

“I beheaded John,” Herod said, “but who is this I hear such things about?” And he wanted to see Him.

They threw him out of the city and began to stone him. And the witnesses laid their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. They were stoning Stephen as he called out: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin!” And saying this, he fell asleep.

I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women in jail,

and he killed James, John’s brother, with the sword.

He said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. After saying this, He told him, “Follow Me!”
